History
No longer able to use the site Fab Shop, I created my own in my apartment in Oswego. I simply set up a cart in front of the sofa and I would bend the 7018 welding rods and braze them together with a small torch set.
My second income was coming along very well, selling to construction workers, my hunting partners and local farmers. The farmers liked them because they could access their knives open and return them to the holder with gloves on in any weather.
Shortly thereafter, my work took me to a Construction site in Belize, Central America (Hydroelectric Plant near the Guatemala border). I brought several openers with me and quickly sold out on the job site.
My friend and the Project Engineer on the Job and I decided the fixture warrented a Patent. So we made the application for the patent. When I returned home to Oswego after the job, I set up shop in an 8'x 8' storage shed brought some necessary tools and started research and development in earnest. The Patent was finally approved in September of 1998.
